"If you are shot by a man because he is afraid of you it is almost as unplesant as if he shot you because he disliked you." -- Theodore Roosevelt

Classes start... TOMORROW?!? What is that?

Nahh, I think it'll be cool. Really. Ok, except maybe vector calculus. And maybe Electrical Circuits ii. ok, and... physics...

No! No. It'll be cool. Just cool in a run for your life kinda way. You know. The FUN kind of cool.

It was jolly cool spending time with all of you over break. I wish we had more time. And if our paths didn't cross, may I offer my condolenses and a few words from our dear friend Johnny....

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,
but I know we'll meet again some sunny day!
Keep smiling through, just like you always do,
'till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away!
So, will you please say hello to the folks that I know?
Tell them I won't be long!
They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go,
I was singin' this song:
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,
but I know we'll meet again some sunny day!
So, will you please say hello to the folks that I know?
Tell them I won't be long!
They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go . . .
I was singin' this song:
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,
but I know we'll meet again some sunny day!

“Honor, virtue, and courage mean everything; that money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. That true love never dies. Doesn’t matter if they’re true or not. A man should believe in those things anyway. Because they are the things worth believing in.”

“I’m Hub McCann. I’ve fought in two world wars, and countless smaller ones on three continents. I’ve led thousands of men into battle with everything from horses and swords to artillery and tanks. I’ve seen the headwaters of the Nile and tribes of natives no white men had ever seen before. I’ve won and lost a dozen fortunes, killed many men, and loved only one woman with a passion a flea like you could never begin to understand. That’s who I am.”

"She went out with her boots on. That's the main thing."

I used to see the fire flicker

Now it's fluorescent tubes.

I used to know the ways of a rabit

I’m just too busy anymore

I knew once what it was to be cold

Now I’m comfy with my chai

I used to jump at the chance to jump

Now running is a chore

I used to start the fire with a  single match

Now at best it’s gasoline, at worst the microwave

Back in the day, I’d swim the creek

Now I hardly make it to the pool

I want to go back to the great unknown

I want to be cold and eat things that may cause giardia

I want to run away and not come back for a while

A long while

I want to get out there, make mistakes, get messy

(or whatever that old schoolbus lady said)

But I’m stuck

At the keyboard

Till the day I die

Unless

Unless I choose adventure

I must choose adventure

Or I’ll die

Saint Crispians Day!!

Celebrating 591 years of honor.

Battle of Agincourt, October 25, 1415.

St. Crispen's Day Speech

William Shakespeare, 1599 from Henry V, act V, scene iii.

                          Enter the KING

WESTMORELAND. O that we now had here
    But one ten thousand of those men in England
    That do no work to-day!

KING. What's he that wishes so?
    My cousin Westmoreland? No, my fair cousin;
    If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
    To do our country loss; and if to live,
    The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
    God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
    By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
    Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
    It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
    Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
    But if it be a sin to covet honour,
    I am the most offending soul alive.
    No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
    God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
    As one man more methinks would share from me
    For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
    Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
    That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
    Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
    And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
    We would not die in that man's company
    That fears his fellowship to die with us.
    This day is call'd the feast of Crispian.
    He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
    Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
    And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
    He that shall live this day, and see old age,
    Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
    And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
    Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
    And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
    Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
    But he'll remember, with advantages,
    What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
    Familiar in his mouth as household words-
    Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
    Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
    Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
    This story shall the good man teach his son;
    And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
    From this day to the ending of the world,
    But we in it shall be remembered-
    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition;
    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
    Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
